ThermiTight® is a “thermistor-controlled subdermal skin tightening” procedure that utilizes radiofrequency to help create safe and effective skin tightening. This procedure is performed by physicians for patients who request skin tightening with less downtime than surgery. The ThermiRF® system is used along with a tiny thermistor probe, which is inserted under the skin using local anesthesia, to heat subdermal tissues to a user-selected specific temperature. This results in tightening and remodeling of the targeted tissue.

How does ThermiTight® work?
ThermiTight® works by delivering radio frequency (RF) energy underneath the skin. This heats the structural tissue and causes contraction and tightening. These both improve skin laxity and sagging.
Is ThermiTight® a laser?
ThermiTight® is not a laser. It is radio frequency (RF). RF energy stimulates the production of collagen (which supports the skin) from within. ThermiTight® is the first aesthetic therapy with temperature control. This means the physician can set the desired temperature and deliver the therapy reducing risk of injury to the patient
What areas can be treated with ThermiTight®?
Commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck. Other areas of the body where ThermiTight® can safely treat loose skin are: abdomen, waist, upper arms, and back. The ThermiTight® treatment is often combined with liposuction if excess fat is also a problem.
How many ThermiTight® treatments are needed?
ThermiTight® is a single treatment for loose skin. The treatment usually takes less than 1 hour but it is often combined with other procedures.
Is ThermiTight® safe?
Yes. During the ThermiTight® procedure, internal temperatures are monitored and regulated by computer system that the physician watches closely to keep the skin safe and healthy. Advanced thermal image guidance provides the physician with real-time external skin temperature monitoring to ensure precision of the heating effect while maintaining safety.
Can ThermiTight® be combined with other procedures?
Yes. ThermiTight® can be combined with other procedures such as liposuction. Liposuction is frequently combined for the treatment of excess fat.
When are the results visible?
After a ThermiTight® treatment, most patients will see a significant improvement within a few weeks. Maximal improvement can take three or four months.

He is a great communicator and listens to my needs, questions and offers honest advice. His great sense of humor always puts me at ease!😄 thanks Dr Doherty!
What are the side-effects with ThermiTight®?
There are few. Due to safety features of the ThermiTight® RF system, side effects are unlikely. The device monitors the actual beneath-the-skin temperature, which is kept below the threshold that can cause thermal damage. In addition, an external infrared camera is used to monitor the skin surface temperature. All of these result in highly monitored skin that is keep safe throughout the procedure.
Who is not a good candidate?
As with all elective, cosmetic procedures, patients should be healthy, not pregnant and not taking any medicines that thin their blood. In general, ThermiTight® RF treatments can be used safely on nearly all patients. Patients, however, with extremely loose skin or sagging of the deeper fascia layer (muscle layer) may require surgery such as a face lift. A full medical evaluation will be performed before any treatment to ensure safety as well as appropriate expectations.
